Finally I'm finished with the shaping, its not perfect but it will do for me.
Next thing do is to harden it.
Its time to harden :)
A pipe with a lot of holes in it, some sheet metal a vacumcleaner
and some charcoal is all that is needed, I think :)
The sheet metal happened to be some lead or something, it melted :D
You can see the sword getting ready in there.
I airhardend it, that means I used the vacumcleaner to blow air to cool it, and after a while i
cooled it with water.
Here i tempered it, I put the sword in a pipe and let the hot air gun warm it.
Its not a very good way, because it only gets about 300*C (at the most)
400-500*C would have been better.
As you can see i ruined the pictures when i resized them, sorry.
Well, it got bent a little, and i tried to bend it back when it was still warm
after the tempering. I could bend as hell, and still it just flexed back.
The pic shows how much i can bend it without any trouble, and no changes at all.
At least it got hardened :)
Before it was a little curved, but not anymore :(
Now its a little bent the wrong way instead.
Next up will be some more grinding and polishing.
